Liberal: anything that restricts individual freedom is an obstacle to remove
المتحرر: إن أي شيء يقيد الحرية الفردية عائق يجب إزالته.
Conservative: individual freedom is a controversial issue, but what we should be concerned about is that it should be restricted by all standards.
Such restriction shouldn't be understood as suppression. In fact, there's all difference between restriction and suppression. When freedom is restricted, it's subjected to law but when it's suppressed it means putting an end to an individual's life.
المحافظ: إن الحرية الفردية مسألة خلافية, لكن ما يجب أن نهتم به هو أنها يجب أن تكون مقيدة بجميع المعايير, ومثل هذا التقييد يجب أن لا يفهم على أنه قمع. فالحق أن هناك فرقا كبيرا بين التقييد والقمع , فعندما تقيد الحرية فإنه يتم إخضاعها للقانون, ولكن عندما تقمع فيعني ذلك وضع حد لحياة الفرد.

Conservative: not wearing the veil is a sort of an extension of the phenomenon of nudism which has been remarkably spreading since the last
century. Many people tend to be think that taking off the veil or clothes is in tune with nature of which they think man is a part. The question is whether we approve of nudism or not. Morally and logically, nudism is, as a matter of fact, uncovering man's private parts which everybody wants to cover. Otherwise, you should go about naked without caring about covering your private parts
المحافظ: إن عدم ارتداء الحجاب هو امتداد لظاهرة العري التي أخذت بالتفشي بصورة ملفته منذ القرن الماضي, فالكثير من الناس يميل إلى الاعتقاد بأن خلع الحجاب أو الملابس ينسجم مع الطبيعة التي يشكل الإنسان جزءا منها. والسؤال هو : هل نوافق على العري أم لا؟ فمن الناحية الأخلاقية والمنطقية العري يعني في الواقع الكشف عن الأجزاء الخاصة للإنسان, تلك الأجزاء التي يود أن يسترها. وإلا كان على المرء أن يتجول عاريا غير مبال بستر أعضائه الخاصه.

المتحرر: إنني لا أوافق على العري بالمعنى الأعمق لهذه الكلمة, فأنا أرى أن الكشف عن الشعر أمر أتفه من أن يتحدث المرء عنه.

nature, namely, bashfulness
المحافظ: إن العري لا يتفق مع متطلبات التواصل الاجتماعي, إذ يجب أن يكون من المعلوم أن هناك صفة متجذرة في أعماق الإنسان ونعني بها الحياء. وجمال المرأة النفسي يكمن في حيائها.
Liberal: do you mean a woman should be bashful all the time so that she may appear inwardly beautiful? Don't you think that bashfulness is a sort of restricting a woman's freedom
المتحرر: هل تقصد أن على المرأة أن تكون على حياء طوال الوقت لكي تبدو جميلة من الناحية النفسية؟ الا تعتقد أن الحياء قيد لحرية المرأة؟

المحافظ: ما أعنيه أن العري شكل من أشكال الابتذال والرخص وانعدام الحياء, فإننا عندما نرى الابتذال والرخص فإننا نشعر بالاشمئزاز. والحق فإننا نتمنى لو قدرنا على أن نفتح كنوز وجمال الطبيعة بمفتاح الحياء بدلا من أن نرى الجمال معروضا أمامنا في نافذة يطل عليها كل شخص.

المتحرر: هل تقصد أن الحجاب حماية أكثر من قيد؟
Conservative: I mean clothes reveal the beauty of the human body in a manner accessible only to real artists. As one doesn't want to reveal one's
secrets to anybody, so one feels a desire to cover one's private parts.
المحافظ: أعني أن الملابس تكشف عن جمال الجسم البشري بطريقة لا يقدر على فهمها سوى الفنانين الحقيقيين, فكما أن المرء لا يود أن يكشف أسراره لأي شخص كذلك فهو يشعر برغبة لكي يستر أعضائه الخاصة.
